Welcome to Red Balloon Worthing — a nurturing and supportive learning community for young people needing a fresh start.
Situated on a peaceful residential street in Windsor Road, East Worthing, and just a short stroll from the beach, our Centre offers a calm and safe environment where young people can rebuild their confidence, rediscover their potential, and re-engage with learning and life.
Who We Help
We support young people who have become isolated from education due to anxiety, bullying, trauma, or other challenges. Many of our learners have Autism or ADHD. These learners often feel disconnected from mainstream school environments, and our goal is to offer a pathway back to education, personal growth, and wellbeing.
What We Offer
At Red Balloon Worthing, we provide:
- Tailored academic learning in small groups and one-to-one settings
- Therapeutic support and wellbeing-focused activities
- A safe, accepting environment with unconditional positive regard
- A sense of belonging and renewed purpose
Our highly trained and passionate staff work closely with each young person to develop an individual plan that supports both educational and emotional development.
What Makes Red Balloon Worthing Unique
At Red Balloon Worthing, we believe learning should feel safe, comfortable, and
nurturing — like being at home. Here’s what sets us apart:
- A Homely Environment – From the moment learners walk through our doors, they feel at ease. We wear slippers indoors and we don’t have a school uniform because we believe this fosters a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can relax and focus on learning.
- Home-Cooked Meals Every Day – We know that good food matters. Each day our learners enjoy freshly prepared, nutritious meals.
- Breaking down barriers – We call our teachers by their first names, encouraging friendly, respectful relationships and breaking down barriers between staff and learners.
Together, these elements create a unique learning space where our learners feel safe, valued, and ready to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Opening Hours
We’re open Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, during term time.
